Graduate Students

Graduate students will be supported in their interdisciplinary exploration of topics in genomics, data science and cloud computing. Support from GRADS-4C toward these emerging scholars includes:

  • Expanding the mentorship network for participating graduate students where they can "talk shop" and gain awareness on how foundational concepts in genomics, data science and cloud computing are enacted in research settings and for purposes of scholarly publication
  • Guidance with implementation stemming from the use of such tools as QIIME2 and R/Bioconductor toward descriptive and predictive modeling of complex data with techniques including heat maps, PERMANOVA, PCA, PCoA, and PLS
  • Presentation and networking experiences that enhance awareness and access for how they may further pursue opportunities at the nexus of genomics, data science and cloud computing.
