Primary areas of activity for GRADS-4C are to:
- Leverage the NHGRI-funded Genomic Data Science Analysis, Visualization and Informatics Lab-space (AnVIL) and other NIH cloud-based platforms
- Enhance the diversity of individuals who have access to educational and research opportunities in computational genomics and data science (CGDS)
- Create a CGDS educational hub which will support activities to increase awareness of CGDS and cloud computing concepts, and address barriers to effective CGDS education
AnVIL and the All of Us Researcher Academy will be keystones in student and faculty training as the center works to build the knowledge base across multiple institutions in support of scholarly activities and workforce development. This includes connecting our growing community of student and faculty researchers with opportunities for presentation, internships and collaboration, and increasing the number of established labs and level of publication in the areas of genomics, data science and cloud computing. GRADS-4C will in addition work to expand educational materials available to the public, and provide students with professional contacts likely to help them succeed in these fields.
